Victor Vasarely is considered one of the original artists of the Op Art movement. His visually striking works play with shapes, lines, and color, creating three-dimensional effects within each print. This three-volume catalogue series was developed in conjunction with a three-phase exhibition of the artists’ work at the Herakleidon Museum in Athens, Greece.
Since the exhibition curators felt that each work is enhanced by how it is matted in a frame, the publication has two layout options, black on white, or white on black, and each piece was carefully considered. Also, since Vasarely’s works are often very large, it was important to provide viewers with a way to engage with the work as it was intended to be experienced. Therefore, a slice of each image is enlarged on the page, providing a full-scale view.
These catalogues are in three languages: Greek, French and English.
